Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving coming so quickly I find myself feeling very thankful. I often forget to say thank you, but I do feel grateful for a grate many things. So, here is my list:
  1. My Wonderful Husband, who takes good care of me
  2. A good upbringing
  3. A mother who loves me and has given me advice my whole life, whether I was ready to listen or not. She showed me love and the path that I should follow. She is a better mother than anyone could ever ask for, and she has given me so much. She has sacrificed a great deal to be the woman she is.
  4. Siblings who have been good examples and wonderful people.
  5. I am thankful for my friends, who are strong-willed, and fun. They are spastic, hyper, goofy, bizarre, creative, and kind. They always know how to make me smile, and in the cases that I need it, they also know how to make me cry.
  6. I am thankful for my job, the things that I learn there, and the people I have met.
  7. I am thankful for my apartment, close to campus, and three flights of stairs to keep me from getting too round.
  8. I am thankful for the Gospel, for the testimonies of my family, and for my own.
  9. I am thankful for the opportunity I have been given to teach at church, and the things that I learn from the other wonderful women in my ward.
  10. I am thankful for a healthy body.
  11. I am thankful for a good life.
  12. I am thankful for my husband's family, they are just as caring, and loud as my own family.
  13. I am thankful for sisterhood, be they adopted, randomly taken in, married in, or biological.
  14. I am thankful for peace.
  15. I am thankful for happiness.
  16. I am thankful for the good advice that I have been given in my life.
  17. I am thankful for the Atonement, and for the opportunity we are given to repent.
There are so many things in this world to be grateful for. I am thankful for so many more things than just those, but I am.

Ward Date Night

Last Sunday they announced in church that we had a surprise activity, but the men were sworn to secrecy as to what it was. It was last night. They had all of the girls meet in one place--the men were already gone--and we were picked up in groups of nine for a limo ride. They took us to the church and as we walked in we were collected by our spouses. We were lead to a dimly lit room where two guys were singing and playing the guitar and mandalyn. Once all of the girls were there, all of the guys stood up and sang "My Girl."
The tables were covered in white rose petals and little silver beads, with a candle in the middle. The men served us dinner. salad, pasta, and yummy chocolate ice cream. Afterward we were invited into the gym to dance to a couple of slow songs. It was cute and romantic, and I don't think that there is a single girl in our ward that didn't enjoy themselves.
I LOVED IT!!!

Veteran's Day

Today is a day of remembrance. A day that we thank all of the service men who have fought for our freedom. It doesn't matter if you oppose war, and violence. This day is for thanking every soldier, from every war fought on our behalf. Both of my grandfather's were veterans of World War II and if they were alive, they would tell you it wasn't fun. Soldiers don't go fight for fun, they do it for us so that we may live the way that we do. So, thank you veterans. Thank you to my grandpas, to my cousin Travis, who almost lost his life, but forfeited his leg instead. Thank you to Barry, who is still serving. And Kasey who just got back. Thank you Caleb who is gone once again. Thank you to every man and woman who is out there serving now, and to those that died away form their families. Thank you to those that were captured. Thank you to those of wars past. Thank you to all of those who have died on behalf of liberty and justice.

Best quote ever

"I write to keep the voices happy." I feel like that sometimes. That is why November is one of the best months ever, it is a month of serious writing. Yea, Nanowrimo!
